Cape St. Francis is a beautiful place for a scenic walk or to fish in the Atlantic Ocean or have a campfire on the rocks at the shoreline.

The best thing I found was over by the lighthouse at the end of the road... I mean the end of the road, you will come to a concrete wall that you can't drive any further. Start walking toward the end of the cliffs, next to the lighthouse and you will see the most amazing cliffs in all of the Avalon, (In my opinion).

The site is just breathtaking. On a sunny day the reflection of the sun against the rocks makes everything glow. The water below is a aqua blue and the sun sets directly in front of you.

There is a road that separates Cape St. Francis from Pouch Cove where you must enter. After you leave the end of Pouch Cove, the road goes up quite an incline. You must travel up the hill and down the road a few miles before reaching Cape St. Francis. You will see wonderful scenery where you can pick raspberries and see white rocky mountains. To the right a little further you will find a very scenic spot for tourists. It is a small clearing up the top of the mountain that as you get to the edge, you can see the large rock formation in the waters below.

Make sure you have good tires and I would not recommend this in the wintertime. A very steep cliff that seems very difficult in the best of conditions.

I highly recommend this spot as a great FREE Newfoundland Destination.
